CRC Printing Limit Policy Reminder

For the past three and a half years, the Computer Resource Centers (CRC) has had a printing limit policy. Unfortunately, the CRC budget does not allow for unlimited printing. To best serve the Pace community, this policy generously allows all users to print up to 30 pages per day. A double-sided page counts as two pages.

A student who needs to print more than 30 pages must complete a printing request form signed by either the course professor or a full-time staff member from the student’s department or school. Once a properly completed and signed form is received, the student may print up to 60 pages for that day only. A separate request form is required each day that a student needs to print more than 30 pages. Only one form per day is allowed and photocopies are not accepted. This helps us maintain accurate usage statistics and keeps the cost for paper and toner within our budget.

In keeping with Pace’s student-centered focus, we ask that all professors and/or departments keep this printing policy in mind when assigning coursework, such as Blackboard and other reference materials. Whenever possible, we suggest making each document no longer than 30 pages, or breaking documents up into sections of no more than 30 pages each. Students may then print one document or section per day. Another alternative is to use your department budget and utilize Document Services.

Your help is essential in eliminating printing conflicts that arise when a student is not able to print within the free allotment. This, in turn, will help improve the students’ academic experience at Pace.

The CRC staff thanks you for your understanding and cooperation.
